Today's Action Items

Step 1: Build Your Draft ROI Reports

  • Open your Draft Client in TaxPlanIQ.

  • Verify client details (RAP pre-fills most info, add anything missing from the 1040 PDF).

  • Confirm tax bracket and overview fields RAP has pre-filled.

  • Add at least 3 strategies RAP suggests or add your own.

  • Review your ROI result and target 90%+ accuracy.

Step 2: Finalize Pricing & Create the Plans

  • If in Draft RAP:

    • Go to the ROI Fee stage.

    • Click Add Fee.

    • Confirm any tasks you want created.

    • Click Create Plan to finalize.

  • If plan already created:

    • Go to Plan Details → ✏️ Fees → Add/Edit Fee.

    • Update pricing or strategies as needed.

Step 3: Apply CURB Factors

  • CURB = Complexity, Uncertainty, Risk, Benefits.

  • Assign Low, Medium, or High (1–3 scale).

  • CURB helps set pricing ranges:

    • Low CURB: ~10–20% of identified savings.

    • High CURB: up to 40–50% of savings.

  • Intangibles matter:

    • Deferred vs permanent elimination of a tax strategy.

    • Concierge-level service provided to the client.

Step 4: Schedule Your Client Meeting for Next Week

Once your ROI Report is 90–95% complete:

  • Send a meeting confirmation email to your client.

  • Include a Zoom invite for next week.

Sample Confirmation Email

Subject: Your Tax Planning Meeting

Hi [Client’s First Name],

I’ve done a detailed analysis of your tax situation. I’ve identified an estimated [% ROI] return on investment for you, and I’m really excited. You should have received a calendar invitation for our Zoom session on [insert agreed upon date/time, or suggest date/time/give your eCal].

I’m showing an estimate of $[conservative number] in potential tax savings. In our meeting, we will go over a quote for how I can assist you and an implementation timeline. Some of the strategies depend on immediate action. I look forward to “seeing” you soon.

Knock-Them-Off-The-Fence Email (If you get ghosted)

Subject: Final follow up on your tax savings

Hi [Client’s First Name],

I hope you are doing well. I haven't heard back from you which usually means one of two things:

  • You need more time.
  • You have decided not to proceed.

I don't suppose that is the case with you, is it??

If you'd like to meet and go over your tax savings quote. Here is my calendar link: [insert link]

If you have moved in a different direction, that is perfectly fine. I would just appreciate a reply to close it out. Please note that re-engaging later will be subject to my availability.

Warmest regards,

Subject: Closing out your tax savings case

Hi [Client’s First Name],

I understand how busy this time of year can be. Since I have not heard back, I will go ahead and close your tax savings case for now. This means you will not receive the outlined savings opportunities for 2025.

If your circumstances change, I would be happy to hear from you, though please note that re-engagement will be subject to my availability at that time.

Thank you again for considering this work.

Warmest regards,.
