Today we’re focused on implementing this plan. That means building an internal + client-facing timeline, scheduling the onboarding meeting, and setting clear expectations with your client.

Today's Action Items

Step 1: Review Your Presentation

  • Reflect on your plan presentation.

  • Write down:

    • What went well

    • What could improve

    • Any open Q&A items (bring these to our live call).

Step 2: Build the Implementation Timeline

  • In TaxPlanIQ, distinguish between:

    • Tasks = internal firm assignments

    • To-Dos = client assignments

  • To enable client’s portal:

    • Edit the client from your main page.

    • Turn on their client portal so they can see to-dos, and “published” reports, etc.

  • Use the Preferred Vendor checklists inside the strategy library to track vendor steps.

  • Add deadlines, owners, and notes for each step.

Step 3: Schedule the Client Onboarding Meeting

This is a 30–90 minute meeting with your client to:

  • Walk through their Client Onboarding Guide. Ask jAIne for one if needed:

  • Review the implementation timeline (tasks + client to-dos).

  • Confirm vendor involvement.

  • Review which package the client is on, what it includes, and expectations.

Sample Onboarding Meeting Script:

  1. Welcome & Recap

“Thanks for trusting me with this plan. Today we’ll confirm the steps, responsibilities, and expectations for implementing your strategies.”

  2. Review Plan Steps

“Here’s the timeline of strategies. Let’s confirm deadlines, who is responsible (my team vs. you), and any vendor involvement.”

  3. Boundaries & Expectations

    • Communication channel (email, portal, calls).

    • Expected response times.

    • Frequency of check-ins (weekly, monthly, quarterly).

    • Scope included in the package you purchased.

  4. Finalize Next Steps

“By the end of this meeting, we’ll have your plan steps locked in with clear ownership and dates. I’ll track everything inside TaxPlanIQ so nothing is missed.”
